The “ New Samgori solar Power Plant” project , with a capacity of 96MW, is being implemented by the JSC “Georgian Energy Development Fund” in conjuction with the United Arab Emirates state -owned company “Masdar” . This company is a global leader in renewable and energy -sustainable urban development and operates in approximately forty countries worldwide.

At the end of 2021, an agreement was signed between the JSC “Georgian Energy Development Fund” and ABU DHABI FUTURE ENERGY COMPANY PJSC MASDAR. This agreement for the joint development of a Solar Power Plant (Solar PV project) with an installed capacity of up to 100 MW.

Based on the agreement , technical, commercial and financial activities were carried out during 2022. A preliminary technical study of the project was prepared and submitted to the Government of Georgia for approval. As well as concept note on December 27,2022.

96 MW construction of installed capacity Solar Power Plant will reduce impact dependence , local electricity supply will be diversified. This will also contribute to the achievement of energy and climate change goals. As well as the fulfillment of contractual obligations. Jobs will be created during the construction and operation of the project.
