Power: 200 KW
Location : Tbilis and Lanchkhuti
Partner (s)
Lietuvous company “Via sol”
JSC “Georgian Energy Development Fund” together with a lietuvous company “Via sol” , implemented a project to provide five public schools with Solar Power Plants in Tbilisi and lanchkhuti. Within the framework of the project, three schools in Tbilisi and two schools in lanchkhuti , were equipped with Solar Power Plants . A total of 200 KW of micro-electric power plants have been installed. The annual output of these plants should be 250,000 KW/h.
There are 500 solar modules located on an area of approximately one thousand square meters.
This project is fully consistent with goal 13of the UN Agenda. It addresses climate change and the need to tale immediate action against its impacts. These micro-power plants are connected to the system through a net-metering scheme. This is why schools are able to fully utilize the generated electricity. In case of excess, they will receive appropriate compensation for every KW/h at the end of the year.in this way, schools will significantly reduce their electricity costs, and the saved funds will be used for other priority topics.
It should also be noted, that the project to provide solar power plants with the support of the fund, has covered 18 public schools, the Georgia Technical University and defense military bases over the past three years.
