Number of schools : 13 public schools (1/2 of Batumi public schools) in total; 1076 solar modules with a capacity of 310 KW have been installed in all thirteen schools. (VIA SOLIS prime 310)

The project to provide Batumi public schools with solar systems has been successfully completed. Solar micro-power plants have been installed in 13 schools, which is the half of all school in Batumi. All generation facilities are connected to the grid of the distribution company JSC “ Energy Pros” , through a reverse meter. And all of them are included in the net-metering system. This will reduce the cost of electricity for schools and help them fully utilize the electricity they generate . therefore , they can use the saved fund for other priority issues.
Within the framework of this project, school students , employees, as well as the local population, will have the opportunity to learn more about the specifics of renewable energy. Estimate its positive effects. Through the monitoring system , the school will have the opportunity to monitor the operation of the system at any time.
The project, developed by JSC “Georgian Energy Development Fund” and “Via soil “ LLC has received funding in the amount of 377,000,19 euros as a grant within the framework of the special climate change program . the total cost of this project is 503,000 euros. 20% of this is co-financed by the JSC “Georgian Energy Development Fund” of the state enterprise of Georgia. The beneficiaries of the project are Batumi public schools: N1, N6, N8, N9, N10 , N13, N14, N16, N17, N22, N23, N28, N 30.
The project fully meets Goal 13 of the UN Agenda, will calls for urgent action against climate change and its impacts . in addition, according the agreement signed between Georgia and European Union, one of the obligations is to mitigate climate change. This includes obtaining energy from sustainable and renewable sources . as well as supporting every -efficient products and services.
