Hydropower Sustainability Standard Certified User Training was opened in Tbilisi.

✅Hydropower Sustainability Standard Certified User Training was opened in Tbilisi. Over the course of three days, participants will familiarize themselves with the requirements, assessment, and practical application process of the international Hydropower Sustainability Standard.

🟢Inga Pkhaladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, alongside Rolande Pryce, World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus, addressed the participants at the opening of the training. As the Deputy Minister noted, Georgia possesses significant hydropower potential and its sustainable development is one of the key pillars for strengthening the country's energy security. Inga Pkhaladze emphasized, that such training sessions contribute to capacity building and professional knowledge enhancement in Georgia, the practical implementation of international standards and the development of the sustainable energy sector.

🟢During the training, participants will study the key principles of sustainable hydropower, the structure and requirements of the Hydropower Sustainability Standard, assessment methodologies, as well as issues related to infrastructure safety, resettlement, stakeholder engagement, communication, and consultation.

🟢The training is organized with the support of the World Bank, in cooperation with the Hydropower Sustainability Alliance, the International Hydropower Association and the ,,Georgia Energy Development Fund'' (GEDF).
