Representatives of the United Arab Emirates state company “Masdar” paid a working visit to Georgia.
Within the framework of the partnership with JSC “Georgian Energy Development Fund”, which implies the construction of the first largest solar power plant in Georgia, a working meeting was held between the parties, where technical, commercial and financial directions of the project were discussed in order to further develop the solar power plant project, as well as to evaluate progress of the joint project and to plan further activities
Within the framework of the visit, the representatives of the Fund held meetings with the companies owning infrastructure in the project area, such as JSC “Georgian State Electrosystem”, “Georgian Gas Transportation Company LLC”, “Georgian Amelioration LLC”, JSC “”Energo - Pro Georgia”, “BP Georgia”.
JSC “Georgian Energy Development Fund” together with the Company “Masdar” is implementing the construction of the solar power plant with 96 MW installed capacity. Implementation of this project will reduce dependence on imports and diversify local sources of electricity supply, as well as contribute to the achievement of renewable energy and climate change goals and fulfillment of the obligations under the Association Agreement. Jobs will be created both at the construction stage of the project and during the operation thereof.
